Ford E83W Van
1938-1957

Engine 1172cc; Max Power 30 bhp @ 4,000 RPM; Max speed 35 mph; Acceleration 0-50 N/A
Number Produced
189,000

Available as pickup, van or chassis, the E83W was a purpose-built commercial vehicle. The engine and transmission were offset to allow the driver to sit almost alongside, increasing the model's load-carrying capacity.

Early models bore the badge 'Fordson', while later models carried a 'Thames' badge. Owing to the number of different body styles built by specialist manufacturers, the E83W saw service in a variety of guises. These included including mobile canteen, ice cream van and multi-seat 'Utilecon', as well as standard van/pickup variants.
