1953 Ford Prefect. Black, with front bench seat.
Owned and cherished for around 10yrs but owner now sadly not able to drive it. Renewed king pins, recon engine (plus one spare included), relined brakes, body solid with no heavy rust. Interior/headlining good with door cards recovered. good tyres. Run well into garage but won't start now so an ideal project for further TLC £2000. Rare 1956 Ford Prefect 100e deluxe
This is currently a non-starter hence the price of £3,495. This has been stored in an insulated and heated garage however hasn't been driven in a while. Engine did start however will need some work to get it on the road, namely with the brakes, clutch and some gaskets. Body work is very solid. This vehicle is a runner and in very good condition and very solid throughout.It has a Leicester number plate and 73264 genuine miles on the clock.I rebuilt the engine in 2020 and it could do with a tune up.It has the original 6 volt system and there was indicators fitted when I purchased the car but they now work in tandem with the trafficators.A new battery fitted in 2025 and the fuel tank has been flushed out. Complete set of tyres in 2020 and the front brake shoes have been replaced with spare linings for the back.The interior has had a complete make over with new roof lining and door cards made trying to keep to makers spec the seat covers have original covers.The outside needs a little more TLC. It has been kept in a garage with dehumidifiers during winter months. Spoilt!! I have it ticking over nice in the garage but every time I take to the road it starts misfiring and just allows me to limp home I'm not mechanic just a hobbyist so enough is enough! Runner in very good, clean condition; a very solid car throughout. Engine runs well. Carries its original Essex-issued registration and has its original logbook. 86, 000 miles on clock, but car and engine rebuilt in early 1990s. Runs the original 6-volt electrical system. Stainless steel exhaust system. New 6-volt 117AH ‘cold-cranking’ Lincon 501 battery fitted in May 2025. Fuel system very recently overhauled including fuel tank, petrol pump, fuel pipes. Cylinder head skimmed, engine de-coked and new gaskets fitted. Complete new distributor assembly fitted. Has electronic condenser for improved reliability.
